Now it's my turn to be pessimistic..
This country is headed towards civil war, and there's only one thing that's going to prevent it? Laziness and procrastination.
I think this country is going to see turmoil like it hasn't seen in decades. Two years from now, when we're still killing Iraqi's to save them, the number of people that want the war to end will reach a critical mass. We'll see massive protests in D.C. and all over the country. When people realize that the war in Iraq has been about oil all along, they're going to be hurt and offended that they're government would lie to them. The candidate that promises no more war will get elected in a heartbeat. But, we still have to deal with the tyrant we have for the next four years. You think he was a poster-boy for corporate america before? Now he doesn't have to worry about re-election. It'll be every lobbyists dream come true, and our country, our freedom will be for sale.
I believe we should never 'ban' anything, because 'banning' means no compromise. The conservatives are always wanting to ban everything they disagree with. How about we start trying to get the things we disagree with banned? Ban pre-emptive war. Ban blood for oil. Ban corporate irresponsibility. Ban career politicians.
Anyone else have anything to add to the list?
