Pentacle Rings???

I have always been confused by the pentacle ring... :-s

I never know if the point should be up so that when i look at my hands i see the pentacle right side up...

Or if i should wear it point down, so that when others see it they see that the point is up.

What do you think... ???

Of course one does take in the fact that i am sure there are some here who wear a pentagram... so answer accordingly.

And also consider this, if you do wear a pentacle on let's say, a necklace... it is shown to the world as point up... but if you were to look at it, looking down at your chest, it would appear upside down... curious, eh?

I think this is subjective, but it would be point up for others to see and also when you are wearing it most of the time if you place it on with the point up for others to see, as the only time it would be point down is when your hand is held up, towards yourself at more than 90 degrees. When your hand is at your side, which it is more than in most other positions, it would be point up just like the pentacle you wear on your necklace.

I wear mine so others see it as pointed up. I wouldn't want to wear it the other way where they might think i am a satanist since most people already have that opinion about pentagrams no matter which way they are turned.

But as for Firelord, he wears his pentagram neclace so its pointed up to other people. He has to since it has a dragon hanging from the bottom of it and thats the only way it can be. But he also has a silver ring that has different celtic knots and symbols on it and one is a pentagram, and he wears the ring so the pentagram faces up to him.

My pentacle is a Celtic tatoo the size of an orange. I clorful done in the gardenrian style Puple is spirit,right from spirit is air yellow,right from it is fire red, then earth green and water blue. I wear it proudly on my right ankle.

For me, I'd wear it for me to see. My necklace is the more large view for the world and the ring would be for me personally. At least that is my opinion. But, again I don't wear pentacles. I love my ankh and it represents more to me than the pentacle.

Since your hand can be at a number of different angles, it makes no difference at all. In contrast, an earring always hangs in the same position (unless you regularly turn back-flips) and should be worn point up. All quite logical if you think about it!

My ring...whichever way I happen to put it on. Necklaces and earings I wouldn't wear point down unless I wanted to do a lot of explaining. Not being a second degree, I would need a reason to be working it point down.

I wear my pentacle ring so that it is point up when I look at it. When I first bought it, this issue crossed my mind, and I did wonder if I "should" turn it the other way to avoid giving the wrong opinion. I tried it for a day, and found that whenever I looked at it, I was giving myself a bad feeling seeing the point down! I turned it back and have worn it this way ever since. I guess the bottom line is I'm wearing it for me, as a symbol of my chosen path, and not for anyone else who might glance at it....therefore it should point in the direction I want to see it.

I guess it is really a matter of individual choice and WORLD VIEW!

At first I started wearing my toe pentacle so I could see it ... but then I switched it and I like it... I used to feel the same as you do Satori... but now am very comfortable with it.

I see myself as wearing it not only as a protective novelty, but also as a form of identification ... especially since as of late i seem to be over run by many, many, many, many (x a million, trillion, billion - funny how that happens when you open yourself up to it (((giggle)))

) witchy folk, so i currently wear it on my right middle toe, with the point up for others to see...

Maybe i will get another one (different design) for the other foot.. and do the opposite!

OK, here's a question I ask tentatively...... I'm thinking of getting a pentacle tatoo, but I have never had a tatoo before. I'm 44, so that's ancient to many of you....

So I'm wondering how I know that the tatoo place is clean, and there is no chance of problems with it. I have no idea how much it hurts or what is involved.

If some of you are enlightened, please help me out here.

I don't wear rings, but I do have a nice pewter pentagram pendant. It was made to be worn point up. It's done in celtic knotwork with an amethyst in the center. I saw it and just knew it was perfect for me.

Well, first off, start by asking people whom you know who have tattoos where they got them and what they thought of the artist and establishment. This can help narrow down the search for you.

Next step is to check the better business beureau to see if they have complaint's filed against them. If so, look into other establishments.

Finally, go in and look around for yourself. The place should be clean. Especially the area where they do the tattooing. That area should be pretty close to dentist or clinic clean. You can also watch them do tats and see for yourself if they always used clean needles, dicscard used ones, always use fresh ink, etc.

Follow those basic guides and you should be pretty safe overall. In things like this though, word of mouth is one of the biggest initial guides.

Good luck. Just make sure you really want it before you get it, as tattoos are forever (unless you want and can afford laser surgery). I am looking into getting two more in addition to the two I already have myself.

That's a nice design. personally I prefer bronze or silver as metals for pendents and such, but I really like the overall design.
